I tried. I really did. After about 15 pages I knew this would be a DNF for me. Ditto on the 2nd book. I didn't even try with the third. Between the writing, the mopey heroine, the over-the-top, controlling hero (How would she feel about Christian if he was a plumber and not a gazillionaire?), well, you get it. I love good erotic romance: Emma Holly, Anne Rice, Joey W. Hill, Anne Lacey, Cara McKenna, Megan Hart--they all write people I want to read about, having interesting sex and interesting lives. Life's too short and I've got too many books on my TBR shelf to stick with a bestseller and cultural phenomenon I don't care to read. If I'm gritting my teeth as I turn the pages, it's time to move on.
